Senator Sehar Kamran (T.I.) Condemns Indian Aggression
Islamabad, October 9, 2014: The President, Centre for Pakistan and Gulf Studies, Senator Sehar Kamran (T.I.) has strongly condemned the continuous Indian aggression on the Line of Control (LoC) and the Working Boundary which has claimed the lives of 11 Pakistanis in four days.
For the last seven days, Indian security forces have been firing and shelling across the LoC and the Working Boundary targeting innocent and unarmed civilians. She urged the international community to take notice of this unprovoked Indian aggression.
Senator Kamran called upon the Indian government to show strategic restraint and responsibility in order to maintain peace in the region and return to the dialogue process. She urged the government of Pakistan to take a strong diplomatic stance against the continuous aggression on the LoC and the Working Boundary which did not stop even on the Eid-ul-Azha day.
Senator Sehar further said “We must work on restoring peace and societal harmony in the region. Sanity must prevail on both sides.”
Senator Sehar Kamran further reiterated the stance of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari challenging India’s position on Kashmir and said the statement of the PPP Chairman not only manifests the PPP stand on Kashmir but is also a true reflection of the aspiration of the people of Pakistan. She also condemned the cyber-attack on the PPP’s website by Indian hackers in retaliation to Bilawal Bhutto’s comments and said PPP’s leadership cannot be pressurised by such cowardly acts.
