The President of Centre for Pakistan and Gulf Studies (CPGS), Senator Sehar Kamran (T.I.) congratulated His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah of Kuwait on being named as a “Humanitarian Leader, in her interview to the Kuwait TV. The United Nations also named Kuwait as an “International Humanitarian Centre”. She expressed heartfelt felicitations to the Amir and Kuwait.

Senator Kamran commended Kuwait’s role and its humanitarian efforts, especially in Pakistan. She specifically mentioned the role and interest taken by the Amir whenever there is a national calamity in the world. She gave the examples of Syria and Pakistan where Kuwait played a great humanitarian role and appreciated its role in the rehabilitation efforts.

She said Pakistan and Kuwait have shared a history of great brotherly relations. The two countries have a great bond. She mentioned how Kuwait still remembers the positive role Pakistan played during the Gulf War and its support to the country. Senator Sehar Kamran further said Kuwait plays a vital role in promoting peace and stability in the region.

Mrs. Kamran appreciated the positive role of Pakistani community in Kuwait. She said Pakistanis there are serving the country as doctors, engineers, workers, etc., and have played a vital role in the development of that country. She said she hopes the ties between Pakistan and Kuwait can further strengthen as the two countries have a lot of potential to collaborate on issues of mutual interest.
